Since its conception in 2006, until today API REAL honey has become one of Quito´s best organic honey suppliers to the local markets and the public in general.
Rene Gutierrez and Mayra Quishpe, a married couple from Quito-Ecuador are the beekeepers of this endeavor located in the valley of Chillos just about 40 min. drive from the city. They produce natural and premium quality Ecuadorian honey.
“The bees chose us, they say”
“The bees chose us”, Roberto and Mayra said when they started this beautiful relationship back in the day. What it began as a hobby became later an artisanal-company that went from producing a few liters of honey to one ton per year during the high season.
Rene and Mayra are busy bees, their work never stops, this allows them to package honey throughout the year to various suppliers around Quito and surrounding areas keeping these beekeepers and their beehives very busy.
Part of the process at the bee farm is to carefully collected honey from the beehives and packaged in various containers in its purest form to preserve the natural and healthy quality honeys. The latest additions to their product catalog involved a series of organic products such as: pollen, propolis, balms, lipsticks, essences, facial creams, repellents, deodorants, soaps, honeys flavors such as avocado among other amazing products.
API REAL is involved in constant research to identify the natural and metabolic properties of Ecuadorian honey, so they can contribute to the good and health of their clients. Bees are wonderful beings that nature put in our lives as agents of positive change. Not only that they are a very important part of ecosystems by keeping them healthy and stable, but imagine a world without bees where humans would have to do pollination by hand? A world without bees would be unthinkable and from the economic point of view the benefits and revenues from natural and non-artificial pollination is unprecedented and vital for our survival as human beings.
